​Fatat Bahmad is a Lebanese contemporary painter born in 1973 in Beirut. During the Lebanese Civil War, her family relocated to Kfar Melki in Southern Lebanon, where the lush landscapes deeply influenced her artistic sensibilities. As a child, she would collect colored buttons, pills, and threads to create artistic shapes, reflecting her early passion for art. Bahmad pursued formal education at the Institute of Fine Arts at the Lebanese University in Beirut, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Painting in 1994. She later obtained a Master's in Education from the Institute of Oriental Letters at Université Saint-Joseph in 2010. ​ Her work predominantly celebrates the natural beauty of Lebanon's southern regions, capturing rolling hills, seasonal flora, and seaside scenes in vibrant oils and watercolors. Influenced by Impressionism, Expressionism, and Fauvism, Bahmad's paintings are characterized by bold brushstrokes and vivid colors that convey pure emotion. Bahmad has exhibited widely in Lebanon and internationally. Her solo exhibitions include shows at Zamen Gallery (2004), Ourjouwan Gallery (2013), Artspace Hamra (2017), and the National Centre of Visual Arts in Damascus (2020). In 2022, her work was featured in a solo online exhibition titled "Life in Full Bloom" on Artscoops. She has also participated in group exhibitions, such as the 32nd Salon d’Automne at the Sursock Museum in 2016. In addition to her artistic practice, Bahmad has been teaching art in Lebanese schools since 1995. She continues to divide her time between Beirut and Kfar Melki, drawing inspiration from both environments.
